Prior to Fastly, Simon worked at Yahoo!, LiveJournal, SixApart, Scribd, and Zendesk.

Mike Shaver

VP Engineering, Security Products, Fastly

Mike Shaver is the VP Engineering, Security Products for Fastly, where he oversees development of Fastly’s array of security solutions, including the Next-Gen WAF, DDoS Protection, Bot Management, and Client-Side Protection. Prior to Fastly, Mike was Distinguished Engineer and Engineering Discipline Lead at Shopify, leading technical architecture for Shopify’s core software and defining the practice of engineering for Shopify’s 1000 software engineers.

Mike is also a co-founder of the Mozilla project, and later ran Engineering and Product for Firefox, as well as being co-developer of one of the world’s first high-performance JavaScript JITs. He also served as the head of Mobile Engineering for Facebook’s storied “mobile pivot”, and ran the desktop SDK team for the first release of the Oculus Rift VR headset. Privacy software, Linux kernel development, venture capital, and high-speed cluster filesystems also make an appearance in his 30-something-year career.

He is a past governor of Seneca College and recipient of an honorary degree, and currently serves as Director and Treasurer of the non-profit Ladybird Browser Foundation. Mike lives in Toronto with his wife, two daughters, and entirely too many keyboards.

Under Randy’s leadership, the company launched new products like Fastly AI Accelerator in record time, and pursued initiatives to reach new and existing customers at scale. Randy joined Fastly in 2023 with the acquisition of Domainr, which he cofounded in 2008. Prior to Fastly, Randy has served as a CEO, entrepreneur, investor, and advisor to early-stage technology companies, including Square (now Block, Inc), as a member of the founding team. Randy launched his career as a game developer, contributing to games from Id Software, Bungie, Activision, and EA, and cut his teeth in Silicon Valley developing search technology at AltaVista. Based in San Francisco, Randy and his family maintain a close connection to New Zealand. As an Edmund Hillary Fellow and a member of the board of directors of Endeavor New Zealand, Randy helps support high-impact entrepreneurs in the region.

Hooman Beheshti

Hooman Beheshti develops web performance services. A pioneer in the application acceleration space, Hooman helped design one of the original load balancers while at Radware and has held senior technology positions with Strangeloop Networks and Crescendo Networks. He’s been developing the core technologies that make the Internet work faster for nearly 20 years and is an expert and frequent speaker on the subjects of load balancing, application performance, and content delivery networks.
