Kip Compton is the Chief Executive Officer of Fastly. Appointed in June 2025, Kip brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience driving innovation in cloud, video, and networking, along with a proven track record of bringing world-class technology to market and growing significant businesses to Fastly.

Kip previously served as Fastly’s Chief Product Officer, where he was instrumental in accelerating Fastly’s portfolio strategy, engaging with customers and investors, and driving growth across the business.

Prior to joining Fastly, Kip served as the senior vice president of strategy of the Cisco Networking business at Cisco where he led teams responsible for strategy, portfolio management, investments and acquisitions.

Kip holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton school.

Mike Shaver

Talk: Architecting for Resilience and Security

Mike Shaver is VP, Engineering at Fastly, where he oversees development of the Security and Compute product lines, as well as Fastly's internal development platform. Prior to Fastly, Mike was Distinguished Engineer and Engineering Discipline Lead at Shopify, leading technical architecture for Shopify’s core software and defining the practice of engineering for Shopify’s 1000 software engineers.

Mike is also a co-founder of the Mozilla project, and later ran Engineering and Product for Firefox, as well as being co-developer of one of the world’s first high-performance JavaScript JITs. He also served as the head of Mobile Engineering for Facebook’s storied “mobile pivot”, and ran the desktop SDK team for the first release of the Oculus Rift VR headset. Privacy software, Linux kernel development, venture capital, and high-speed cluster filesystems also make an appearance in his 30-something-year career.

He is a past governor of Seneca College and recipient of an honorary degree, and currently serves as Director and Treasurer of the non-profit Ladybird Browse Foundation. Mike lives in Toronto with his wife, two daughters, and entirely too many keyboards.

Liam Mayron, Ph.D., CISSP, ISSMP, drives the strategy, roadmap, and business outcomes for Fastly’s security portfolio as Director of Security Products. He has spearheaded product launches in areas including DDoS protection, managed security, WAF, and network analytics. Experience prior to Fastly includes Cisco, LogRhythm, Akamai, and Harris Corp. In academia, he created new graduate degree programs in cybersecurity as an Assistant Professor at Florida Tech. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering and has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications.
