Todd Nightingale is the Chief Executive Officer of Fastly. He assumed the role of CEO and joined the Fastly Board of Directors in September 2022.
Todd has spent more than 20 years making the internet a better place. He previously served as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Networking and Cloud at Cisco Systems, Inc. Todd is known for his passionate technology leadership and his vision of powerful, simple solutions for businesses, schools, and governments.
Prior to Fastly, Todd served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cisco Meraki where his focus on delivering a simple, secure, digital workplace led to the expansion and growth of the Meraki portfolio, making it the largest cloud-managed networking platform in the world at the time.
He previously held engineering and senior management positions at AirDefense, where he was responsible for product development and guided the company through a successful acquisition by Motorola.
Todd holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and a Master's degree in computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Tyler McMullen is a Fastly co-founder and its Chief Technology Officer, where he leads a team of experienced technology innovators focused on internet scale, and working on future-facing ambitious projects and standards.
As part of the founding team at Fastly, Tyler built the first versions of Fastly’s Instant Purging system, API, and Real-time Analytics. Prior to joining Fastly, Tyler worked on large-scale web applications, text analysis, and performance.
Laura Thomson is the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Fastly.
Prior to Fastly, Laura held a variety of engineering leadership roles at Mozilla and has worked as a software engineer, company founder, consultant, and computer science academic. Laura is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Internet Society, where she currently serves as Treasurer. She previously served on the board of Internet Security Research Group (ISRG), the nonprofit that operates Let’s Encrypt.
Laura is a best-selling author who has written several books on various open source technologies, including “PHP and MySQL Web Development” (with Luke Welling). She has contributed to many open source projects, and spoken at dozens of conferences worldwide on a variety of technology topics.
Laura holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
Kip Compton is the Chief Product Officer of Fastly and brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience driving innovation in cloud, video, Internet of Things (IoT) and networking.
Prior to joining Fastly, Kip served as the senior vice president of strategy of the Cisco Networking business at Cisco where he led teams responsible for strategy, portfolio management, investments and acquisitions.
Kip holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and a Master’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and an MBA degree from the Wharton School. He also holds multiple patents in the areas of digital video, security, and networking.
Andrew heads up the developer relations strategy for Fastly, working with developers across the world to help make the web faster, more secure, more reliable and easier to work with. He founded a web consultancy startup that spent a decade working on innovative web projects for media clients including the Financial Times, News International and the Economist group, before being acquired by the FT in 2012.
At the FT he led the team that created their pioneering mobile web app, and founded the FT’s Labs and UI component divisions. More recently he was elected a member of the W3C Technical Architecture Group, a committee of nine people who guide the development of the World Wide Web.
Early in his career, Andrew also worked at the UK’s national air traffic control service during 9/11, founded, grew and successfully sold a web mapping startup, and planned and developed a web-based national logistics information network in Zimbabwe.
Daniel Corbett is a Staff Product Manager on the Security Product team, where he works on the Signals and Rules that power Fastly's Next-Gen WAF. He has over 15 years of security practitioner experience and has previously worked at a high-traffic managed hosting provider where he was architecting and building secure infrastructure, mitigating threats and attacks of varying degrees, and performing incident response. Daniel is a passionate teacher and mentor who enjoys helping others. When he's not working you can find him spending time with his family, working on home improvement projects, or trying to duplicate meals from his favorite restaurants.
Jana Iyengar is a Distinguished Engineer at Fastly, where he works on all things networking and performance. Previously, he served as the VP of Product for Infrastructure and Network Services at Fastly, where he was responsible for the core hardware, software, and networking systems that constitute Fastly’s platform. He is the editor of the IETF’s QUIC specifications, he chaired the IRTF’s Internet Congestion Control Research Group (ICCRG) for several years, and he remains engaged in the IETF, the IRTF, and academia. Prior to Fastly, he worked on QUIC and other networking projects at Google, before which he was an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Franklin & Marshall College.
Simran is a Staff Security Researcher at Fastly where he focuses on threat intelligence, vulnerability research, and product innovation. He enjoys researching novel attack techniques and fortifying technology to prevent real-world web attacks. He has spent his career on both the offensive and defensive sides of the industry in both public and private sectors with an emphasis on building modern security solutions.
Liam M. Mayron, Ph.D., CISSP is a Staff Product Manager for security products at Fastly. He has launched new enterprise and SaaS products in managed security, security services, cloud application security, and network security analytics domains. He was also a Professor at the Florida Institute of Technology where he created a new graduate cybersecurity degree program. He received his Ph.D. and B.S. degrees in computer engineering from Florida Atlantic University and his M.S. degree in the same field from the University of Florida. His Ph.D. dissertation, “Image Retrieval Using Visual Attention”, developed a hybrid content-based, collaborative filtering query method for searching for images.
Luke Wagner is a Distinguished Engineer at Fastly, working on WebAssembly standards and evolution. Before joining Fastly, Luke worked for more than a decade at Mozilla on Firefox, the JavaScript engine, performance, security and Web standards. During this time, Luke co-created WebAssembly and led the implementation in Firefox. Luke is a co-chair of the W3C WebAssembly Working Group and is currently leading the WebAssembly Component Model proposal.
Dominic Fee leads Fastly's Observability product line as Sr. Manager of Product Management. He co-founded ReSRC, the responsive image service that Fastly acquired in 2015.
Before ReSRC, he worked as a product engineering consultant, helping clients such as BBVA, Sky Sports, and Warner Music deliver high-performing front-end applications.
He is a graduate of the University of Huddersfield with a Bachelor's Degree in Computing in Business and Information Technology.
Hossein Lotfi is the VP of Engineering leading Edge Systems Organization at Fastly. Hossein has over 20 years of experience building networks and large-scale systems ranging from startups to hyper-scale cloud infrastructure. He has scaled multiple engineering organizations geared towards rapid development and novel innovations.
He firmly believes in the compounding effect of having experts in every part of the stack working together to build innovative solutions for intricate scalability and efficiency challenges. Hossein’s engineering leadership style is rooted in deep involvement with the state of production systems.
At Fastly, Hossein is responsible for building reliable, cost-effective, and low-latency systems at the edge that deliver network services to our customers. He oversees the following engineering groups: Traffic Engineering (Egress and Ingress), Edge Delivery Platform (Varnish, CacheD), Kernel and DataPath (XDP), Edge Protocols (e.g. TLS, QUIC), Layer 7 load balancing (H2O), Hardware Engineering and Network Architecture.
With over two decades of experience spanning various facets of information security, including roles at notable companies like Fastly, NGINX, Oracle, and Akamai Technologies, Ivan Tirado is a seasoned expert in safeguarding organizations against a myriad of online threats. As a Senior Security Strategist at Fastly, Ivan leverages extensive industry-specific knowledge to fortify defenses against emerging cyber threats, specializing in combating botnets, ransomware, DDoS attacks, and application layer exploits.
Randy is a Security Architect who oversees secure design, integration and implementation of controls and risk mitigation within the Airline. He has led initiatives to upgrade security defenses on our public website and app, datacenters, airports/aircraft, as well as expanding the detection and engineering capabilities for the team. An avid traveler, he also tries to view the outcomes and impact of security decisions from an operational and customer focused lens. Prior to jetBlue he was a Network Security Engineer at J.CREW Group where he spent 6 years supporting the retail ecosystem and cloud initiatives.
Kwame Musonda, Global Head of Site Reliability Engineering, is a leader of the Duo Security division of the Security Business Group at Cisco. Over the last five years he has been pivotal in Duo’s global market expansion while, as Duo’s Information Security Officer (ISO), helped Duo meet various global public and private sector security requirements. A day in the life of Kwame is a split between ensuring that Duo’s customers are provided a reliable and secure service while also looking to the future to provide a scalable infrastructure that grows as Duo’s market presence grows. Prior to moving into Security, Kwame led Software Engineering teams in the Networking and Telecommunications space. While he has extensive expertise in Reliability, Automation, Analytics, Quality and Performance Engineering, he gets the most fulfillment from helping individual contributors, leaders and teams achieve more than they thought was possible.
Amanda is a Site Reliability Engineer helping monitor, scale and support the rendering infrastructure at Imgix, a company aiming to help the world see the Web better through image processing. She's passionate about leveling up the tooling, processes and infrastructure automation of engineering teams at startups. Previously she worked at League Inc., a Canadian startup striving to consumerize health care, where she helped the Platform team build tooling around code and configuration deployments to get the product and engineering teams to release features on demand. In her spare time, you can find her either on the tennis court or somewhere outside in nature.
Joel Marcey is the Director of Technology at the Rust Foundation. Joel supports the technical initiatives and programs that the Foundation sponsors, along with supporting the awesome engineers that work full-time at the Foundation. The Foundation is currently supporting initiatives around Rust security , C++/Rust interop and the development of a Rust specification. We also support the infrastructure that runs the Rust Project, such as CI for Rust Project developers, crates.io and any of the cloud providers the Foundation or Rust Project uses, including Fastly. Before the Rust Foundation, Joel worked at Facebook/Meta as a developer advocate in its open source program, along with stints at other high tech companies as well.
Arnaud Meukam, maintainer at Kubernetes Infrastructure Special Interest Group. Arnaud is a maintainer of the Kubernetes project. He has been involved in the project for over 5 years now, is the SIG Chair for the Kubernetes Infrastructure Group, and is a release manager for Kubernetes.
